INDIA FAQS
It’s a big investment — what do you think makes your tour to India worth it?
We've priced the tour very competitively and compared it to other NZ and Australian tour companies it's at least $2k less for the length of time and quality of hotels. This is more than just a trip—it’s a curated, once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with unforgettable memories and unique opportunities like gemstone shopping in Jaipur and a sunrise at the Taj Mahal.
Your fee includes luxury 3 - 4 star haveli (traditional) accommodations, guided tours, workshops, flights, private tour bus and breakfasts — everything is planned so you can focus on enjoying the journey. You will have two consistent tour hosts who will share the schedule - Cathy and Raju, so you won't be passed around to guides we don't know.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we can help you with flexible installment options , simply email Cathy to arrange something to suit your needs.

I'm a bit daunted by traveling alone or not knowing anyone.
There is the option to fly with other members of the group on the flight over and Cathy has a travel agent at House of Travel who co-ordinates all the flights. The earlier you book the more likely you are to find a seat on the same flight.
The benefit of joining a small group of like-minded women is that you all share the same sense of adventure and curiosity. Many of our past attendees started as strangers and left as lifelong friends. With only 8 attendees, you’ll feel like part of an intimate, supportive group. After a couple of days you'll feel at ease. If possible we try and have a meet up in Auckland before the tour leaves.
What will the weather be like in September and October?
The monsoon will be over which means the end of summer and its heading into the cooler months. It will be approx 24 - 32 degrees and the mornings and evenings will be warm. You won't ever be cold.
How much walking is involved?
We do ask that people can comfortably walk an average f 10,000 steps per day. The reason is that we will be walking around a lot and with the combination of heat and rough terrain, uneven steps etc in forts, palaces, temples and markets it can be tiring. For you and the rest of the group to enjoy the experience we ask people to be aware of this requirement. There is a bike tour in Jaipur which is optional. We will be riding a bike of flat but rough terrain in the early morning before traffic gets heavy.
Is India safe?
Simply put - YES! India is safe. A curated tour is even safer as we will make sure you go to the best places, are never alone (unless you want to be) and all the hassle is taken away. Our trip is meticulously planned with trusted local guides and accommodations vetted for comfort and safety. Indian people are kind, friendly, welcoming and proud of their country and want you to leave with amazing experiences.
You’ll be supported every step of the way by experienced tour leaders who know the region inside and out.
I’m not sure I can commit to the dates or be away from family or work — is that something others struggle with too?
This isn’t just a trip; it’s an opportunity to invest in yourself—time to recharge, reflect, and return inspired. We start promoting the tours about 9 months in advance so there is plenty of time to book time off work and arrange childcare. Spots are filling fast, and this experience won’t happen again until next year. All you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself. We'll do all the planning.
This trip is more than a getaway—it’s a chance to immerse yourself in new experiences, create unforgettable memories, and connect with inspiring women.
Return home with a treasure trove of memories, unique purchases, and a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.
Can I wait until the last minute to decide?
We market our tours early because in India flights and accomodation book up very quickly and prices increase accordingly. We want to keep the group together so we require the balance to be paid in full 3 months before the start of the tour. We have to pay for accomodation and airfares this early so the payments are non-refundable from there on.
With only 4 spots left, don’t miss the chance to join this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Our group is intentionally small to ensure a personalized experience—these seats won’t last! Early bird pricing ends April 13th. It will increase by $200 thereafter.

What if there's another COVID with travel restrictions?
We’ve implemented flexible cancellation policies and work with trusted partners to ensure your safety. Our previous trips have run smoothly with measures in place to keep everyone safe. We have covered this in our Terms and Conditions.
