1. Payment & Booking

A non-refundable deposit of NZD $2,000 is required to secure your place. Payment can be made directly to Cathy’s Wise account. These transfers may incur a small transaction fee. The deposit payments are for our tour guide in India to pay for hotel bookings in advance to secure the rooms. Deposits are non-refundable because hotels provide credits instead of refunds.  

  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 12 weeks prior to the tour start date.
  • If full payment is not received by the due date, your spot may be cancelled and offered to someone else.

2. Visa

We will send a link to e-visa forms for our guests to apply independently for a visa to India. Each guest is responsible for providing accurate and complete information on this form to receive a visa for a tour of India. 

3. Cancellations & Refunds

If the operator needs to cancel the tour for any reason, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit.

Deposits are non-refundable if the guest cancels. See 1. Payment & Booking

  • If you cancel:
    • 30 days or more before the tour start date: 70% of the balance is refundable (excluding deposit).
    • Less than 30 days before the tour start date: the tour is non-refundable.

·   No refund can be initiated if cancellation is made past this point. Your booking amount cannot be refunded if a guest's visa to India is refused due to wrong information provided by the guest or a guest's status on arrival.

4. Travel & Insurance

·      Flights - Our clients are responsible for booking their own flights independently. We can recommend a travel agent at House of Travel who will arrange guests travel together. Due to the nature of group travel we don't recommend people book online or independently as this may result in the group being split up and delayed arriving at different times and affecting the itinerary. Guests are required to meet at the nominated date, time and location to commence the tour. 

  • Travel insurance is mandatory, including cover for medical care, evacuation and cancellation. We recommend taking out an insurance policy at the same time as purchasing an airline ticket.
  • You are responsible for booking your flights, visas, and any required travel documents.
  • We are not responsible for any travel delays, airline issues, lost luggage, or external transport arrangements.

5. Accommodation & Transport

  • Accommodation is based on twin share. If you require a single room, an additional supplement applies. To be advised at time of paying deposit.
  • All internal travel listed in the itinerary is included (private driver/taxi/coach where specified).
  • Any additional activities or personal purchases outside the itinerary are at your own cost.

Flexibility & Itinerary

  • India is dynamic and sometimes unpredictable. The itinerary may change due to weather, local events, festivals, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any adjustments will be made with care to maintain the quality of the experience.

7. Group Culture

  • We foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive group environment.
  • We reserve the right to remove any guest from the tour if their behaviour negatively affects others, without refund.

8. Photography

  • Photos and videos may be taken during the tour and used for promotional purposes. Please let us know in advance if you prefer not to be photographed.

9. Extras and Tips

·       Tips for the local Indian tour guide and drivers are mandatory. Rates:

o   Driver $10 per day approx. $90 - $110 TBC

o   Guides $25 per day per guest approx $350 - $390 TBC

For convenience this can be pre-paid as an extra payment to Cathy as at the same time as paying the balance. They can be managed by Cathy on your behalf. 

·       Service tips at hotels and restaurants are mandatory and expected in India. The guide will collect cash instalments from guests to cover these expenses at the start of the tour and further if and when necessary.  

10. Privacy Policy

Your passport and information will be shared with third parties which are railways, hotels, and visa authorities on your behalf. Verbal consent will be taken from our guests before posting their pictures from their Tour of India on our social media platform or website.
